Over the last few months, River Structures has been working with PacifiCorp at their Bigfork Project in northwestern Montana to improve and modernize the powerhouse intake screens. The intake screens are located on the Swan River, approximately a mile and a half east of Flathead Lake. The existing intake includes 5 bays, each with 2 static fish screens. These existing screens are being replaced with new traveling screens that will increase screen efficiency, improve debris handling, and reduce operations and maintenance requirements for project personnel for years to come. The project is currently in the design phase with construction expected to occur in the summer/fall of 2021.
River structures also recently completed the Turbine Inlet Valve Replacement Project at this facility.
