Bigfork Powerhouse Turbine Inlet Valve Actuator Replacement

Over the past several months, River Structures has been with PacifiCorp and contractor J.R. Merit to replace the actuator on one of the turbine inlet valves at the Bigfork Powerhouse. This 4.15 MW historic powerhouse is located in historic Bigfork, Montana, right near downtown and has been a staple of the community for over 100 years. The actuator is being replaced on the valve in order to improve operational performance and system reliability. Since the powerhouse is historic, built in the early 1900s, every effort is being made to ensure minimal impact to the existing powerhouse structure and to maintain historic aesthetics.
